Working as teachers, material writers, directors of studies or entrepreneurs can be isolating: from drafting lesson plans and reports, to selecting teaching materials, assessing students or providing peer-observation and it is not always easy to build a network of professionals ready to share experiences or support one another - we might even fall victim to fierce competition.
We personally love working independently and being able to do so from any corner of the world and at any time, but if there is one important thing we have realized over the years, is that if we want to keep evolving as people and as professionals, we need contamination, communication, collaboration and innovation.
Our profession is constantly evolving and often requires a lot of creativity. Think of what would happen if we joined forces to create a repertoire of unique, brilliant, inclusive, and cutting-edge ideas? We could be inspired by the ideas of others and enable others to raise the bar of excellence through our contributions.
For this and for many other reasons, I decided to start a community of professionals to come together in a space for growth, support and guide and to feed off each other’s energy.

RefuNet is about connecting refugees and volunteers who would like to teach them.
If you’d like to volunteer but don’t have much time to travel and teach multiple hours a week, RefuNet is a really flexible way to volunteer – lessons are arranged between you and your student at a time that suits you both. It’s a great way to help refugees integrate, to gain some teaching experience and to interact with people from different cultures.
